Photoshoot

Dear friends,

What an exciting week it was!

And finally I've had a couple of days off and I enjoyed it very much! Read some books, looking forward to Halloween, visited my mum and I also have some appointments with friends.

I am going to write more weblogs to keep you informed about the ins and outs of Nemesea. Sometimes we will take turns with each other so you will get weblogs from each and everyone of us in the next couple of months.

So first I will tell you about the amazing week we had last week.

There we go!

On Monday I called photographer Paul Bergen to make an appointment for a photo shoot. We decided to come to Amsterdam on Friday where we also had an appointment with David.

Paul is a very talented photographer and has taken pictures from a lot of famous people….and if I say a lot I really mean a LOT! You can check him and his work out over here.

But first we rehearsed a little more. We are practicing the Nemesea songs electric as well as acoustically. And we are busy preparing a good show.

Everything is going great! The songs are becoming even more 'Nemesea songs' and it feels really good.

We are also working on a couple of covers. I cannot tell you which songs that are, otherwise it won't be a surprise! We're sure to impress you with those songs as well as with our own material!

On Thursday I had another singing lesson. So I went to Amsterdam by train. It was a very useful lesson (as always!). I choose a real difficult song to sing, but it went quite okay.

The guys and I would also go shopping in Amsterdam to find some nice clothing to wear during the shoot. So at 2 o'clock, when my singing lesson was done, they rang the door bell so I knew it was time to go!

We were in the city from 2 o'clock till 9 in the evening. In the end I wasn't feeling really well. We could spend the night at Sonny's sister in The Hague. That was very nice, otherwise we had to drive another 3 hours back to Groningen and come back to Amsterdam the next day, because of the shoot.

At 12 o'clock we arrived in The Hague and I went straight to bed!

The next morning (Friday) we had good breakfast and went to Amsterdam at 12 o'clock. We met Paul over there and drove to the building where the shoot would take place.

In the meantime David had an appointment with the guys from Sellaband and AT productions and he called us as soon as he was finished. So he also came to the shoot.

It was great working with Paul.

We made some group pictures and also some individual pictures.

We tried a couple of different poses and cloths and in the end we had some really great pics!

We said goodbye to Paul and searched for a restaurant to have dinner.

We found a really good Japanese restaurant where we had to eat with chopsticks and drink soup instead of eating it with forks and spoons. It was absolutely fantastic! I loved it although I had some difficulties holding the sticks in the right way!

After two and a half hour we left and went to Schiphol, where it was a bit more quiet, to have a good conversation with David about a lot of things I'm not going to bore you with ;-)

At half pas 11 in the evening we said goodbye to David. We had to drive another 3 hours to get home. Poor Sonny…he had to drive! He did a great job, though! I feel really safe when he's behind the wheel!

We went straight to bed when we came home.

On Saturday we had to do some odd jobs in the rehearsing room. Next week there will be a person from Dagblad van het Noorden (a Dutch paper) coming over for an interview with us. He will record it and make a little video for their own website. So we had to color up the room a little bit.

Soon we have some nice picture to show you. It's not totally finished yet, but next week it will be. You will be surprised!!!

Have a nice week!

Love,

Manda
