Pampus
Last week we got a call from the dutch company BlazHoffski tv productions. They are developing and producing television programs for various television stations for the major networks in Holland. Some of the productions in Holland they are responsible for are Praatjesmakers, Hello Goodbye and Onder de tram.
They asked us if we wanted to do a gig on the island called Pampus. Here's just a little history about the island:
Pampus
The "Fort in the Zuiderzee on the Pampus" was built at the end of the 19th century as part of the Stelling van Amsterdam, a ring of 42 defensive works around the capital. Fortress Island of Pampus protected the entrance to the river IJ. Fully laden ships were often carried across the mud flats using "ship camels". As long as they were waiting for their turn, the ships were laying course "for Pampus".
Pampus was, and still is, an impressive fort. The fort contains four gigantic Krupp cannons and has enough space to house more than 200 soldiers.
The Fortress Island of Pampus is open to the public April through October, Tuesday through Sunday, and can be accessed from the Muiderslot in Muiden.

The island is looking for new fort keepers and they made a contest out of it that's called: "Slag om Pampus" which will be broadcasted by the Dutch broadcasting corporation NCRV.
We were part of a mission one of the competitors had to accomplish. There are 7 couples that are taking part in this contest.
So Friday we went to Muiden. There's a castle called "Muiderslot". To go to Pampus you have to travel from the castle with a ferryboat.
Muiderslot
We played a nice, intimate gig in a cosy building with a small but very enthusiastic audience.
The show will be broadcasted early 2008.
We wish the contestants good luck!
May the best couple win!
