So, this was our first day in Purmerend. It was HOT!
The sun was shining and the building felt like it was on fire....steamy!
But it wasn't...however....hmmm....let's start at the beginning.
When we woke up this morning, we bought some breakfast first. Bread, toast, marmelade, cheese, a cup of tea and of course loads of coffee.
Then D&D had some things to finish off in the big hall where everything will take place, Maikel (light engineer) had a lot to do, so we went to a rehearsing room to play the songs again.
I was a bit tired, but as soon as I started singing, I just filled up with energy! Lasse is really great. It's so nice to be in a band with 5 members again!
After a couple of hours, Djuri came to tell we had to eat something because it was already haf past 1. So we did. Maikel and all the other guys who help him with the lights, thought they could grab a bit also. But then another truck with lights arrived and they had to get back to work without anything to eat. Very busy people!
After lunch the guys rehearsed again and I did some exersizes (yes, I'm one of those people who's addicted to ZUMBA!!! Feel the music!)
Steven and I decided to cook diner for 12 people....so we went to the supermarket and bought all the ingredients for a lovely pasta diner. But then it happend........
Steven put a pan on the stove and it got a little too hot. So there was a lot of smoke and it took just a little while for the fire alarm to ring. So I called Djuri, who was downstairs, to tell him there was nothing wrong, just a pan that got too hot. In the meantime I also heard some sirenes.....firemen sirenes. I made a joke: "They are fast, haha...." but they actually came for the P3! Because of the alarm...because of the pan that got too hot.
Four firemen came in the kitchen to check if everything was okay, so I told them that if I would have had enough food, they could also grab a bit.....hmmmm, not such a funny joke, cause they were having diner at the time our alarm went off...oeps.

Well, nothing bad happend and Steven and I still made some lovely diner.
Right now it is eleven o'clock in the evening and I just did the mic soundcheck. I've already heard some great stuff in surround, so I am very curious how it wil sound with the complete band.
Maikel already did a great job with all the light. The light show will be overwhelming!
Tomorrow another update.
Much love!
